Averda appoints sustainability director

End-to-end waste management specialist Averda has appointed Brindha Roberts as its group director of sustainability.

Brindha, who has been head of sustainability at Averda’s South African operation since 2017, will now run sustainability initiatives across all nine countries in which the United Arab Emirates-headquartered company operates.

She was previously with Mondi Packaging, Sappi and Kimberly-clark, and has a master’s degree in chemical engineering as well as being a graduate of the University of Stellenbosch Business School.

Brindha said: “Sustainable methods of waste management, within a broader circular economy, in the emerging world is Averda’s raison d’etre.”
