Brokk launches next gen telematics platform

Specialist remote-controlled equipment manufacturer Brokk has launched the next generation of its online telematics platform, which connects demolition robots over a mobile network.

Brokk Connect 2.0 platform on mobile device Brokk Connect 2.0 allows fleet operators to monitor the location and status of their equipment remotely.

Brokk Connect 2.0 provides users with real-time machine information such as location, status and operational data, allowing equipment operators to improve the management of their fleet.

Comprising both hardware and software designed to “meet the specific requirements of the operation and management of demolition robots”, the new Brokk Connect 2.0 is now available across Europe and North America and offers users a number of additional features.

“As we said when we announced Brokk Connect, it is a solution that we will continue to develop and expand,” said Martin Krupicka, CEO of Brokk Group.

“Brokk Connect 2.0 is now the next step, but it is definitely not the last. Connected machines and all their benefits are here to stay.”

Key features of Brokk Connect 2.0 - which is available on all new Brokk robots and can be retrofitted to older machines - include a geofencing function that can set boundaries for where machines can be used and that can also assist in the event of theft or unauthorized use.

Additionally, the platform also now provides users with weekly status reports on their equipment to keep owners up to date.

Brokk, which recently also launched a stationary breaker boom system for the aggregates industry, said users could also customised the platform to suit their preferences.

“The feedback from our customers who have tried Brokk Connect and signed up for a Brokk Uptime service contract during the pilot period, is that they could not imagine going back to machines without the system”, says Martin Krupicka.

The Swedish manufacturer said the platform can also be combined with the Brokk Uptime service contract, which enables machine owners to “troubleshoot any issues remotely” and maximise uptime.

While currently only available in two regions, Brokk said the platform will be rolled out worldwide in 2022.
