684 tracked mobile screen new from Terex Finlay

26 April 2012

Terex Finlay used Intermat to launch the 684 tracked inclined mobile screen that received its first outing at Intermat in April. The 684 has, according to the company, been engineered and designed for a range of applications in the mining, quarrying and construction sectors. It can process demolition debris, topsoil, sand, gravel, coal and aggregates. It is a compact, easily transportable unit that provides rapid set up and tear down times, with Finlay saying that the latter can be accomplished in less than 30 minutes.

A new screenbox features three 4.3 x 1.7 m (14 x 5.5 ft) inclined decks to give a large screening area of 21.9 m2 (236 ft2) to ensure efficient screening and high productivity. It features quick wedge tensioning, access holes and bottom deck hydraulic tensioning to reduce mesh change times. The four discharge conveyors hydraulically fold for transport. The fourth product 'oversize plus' can be positioned at varying angles for accurate discharge for recirculation and stockpiling.

Power comes from a Caterpillar C4 air cooled diesel developing 82 kW (111 hp), and the new machine features a 8 m3 (10.5 yd3) hopper as standard that can be fitted with a 4.3 m (14 ft) tipping grid or 3.6 m (12 ft) vibrating grid.
