D&Ri would like to announce a call for entries for the 2011 D&Ri World Demolition Awards, which will be presented at the 2011 World Demolition Summit that will be held in Amsterdam on 4 November, 2011. The World Demolition Awards are intended to recognise expertise and best practice as applied both to specific demolition projects and also the day-to-day management of individual contractors operating in the sector. Full details of the World Demolition Awards can be found at www.demolitionsummit.com, along with guidance on how to enter and the necessary downloadable documentation required to complete your entries.

The categories for this year's awards have been further refined through the addition of an additional category, the Collaboration Award. This Award is intended to recognise specific projects where close co-ordination between all relevant parties (client, main contractor, demolition contractor et.) was considered essential in delivering on time and to budget. Entries for this category should show clearly how this close coordination was achieved, along with the results it delivered.

The closing date for entries is 29 July 2011. Where specific projects are put forward, work should have started or the contract completed after 30 June 2010 and before 30 June 2011. The closing date will be final and no extensions will be allowed. This will allow the judges a sufficient period to ensure that all entries receive equal consideration.

Once again, the judging panel is made up of well-known individuals active in the industry from around the world. Details of each individual member can also be found on the World Demolition Summit website.

The World Demolition Summit is being organised jointly by D&Ri and the European Demolition Association (EDA), with the official support of various national demolition bodies. It should prove to be a must-attend event for the industry, and a highlight of the year.
