Case Construction launches midi excavators ‘for every application’

Case construction said its new E-series midi excavator range – in the 8 to10 tonne class – will be available to suit multiple applications, with mono and two-piece boom options, fixed and boom swing, and short radius and zero-tail swing versions.

The range comprises more than 20 variants, including the CX85E, a zero-tail swing model with a fixed mono boom, which the OEM said is similar to a full-size crawler model. It has an operating weight of 8,830kg.

For customers looking for a mini excavator style machine, the CX90E model comes with boom swing for improved access on constricted sites. It weighs 9,210kg.

Case said “ultimate flexibility” can be had with the CX100E, a 10,080kg machine with a longer horizontal reach and higher dump height. It has a zero-tail swing design, with a two-piece articulating boom and boom swing.

Both the CX85E and CX90E can be ordered with an additional 440kg counterweight to give extra stability and lifting capacity. That comes as standard on the CX100E. All three can also be equipped with an external 900kg additional counterweight.

The machines are powered by a 53.7kW (73hp) diesel engine. With a variable displacement hydraulic pump, there are three operating modes available, Economy, Standard and Power, and operators can also program an individual setting, adjusting the speed of each hydraulic function.

Case has introduced a joystick travel mode, allowing the operator to control tracking functions from the left-hand joystick, ideal when using the dozer blade for backfilling applications and travel.

The cab environment is said to be “premium”, with three types of seating on offer, ergonomically-designed joystick levers with intuitive push buttons, and electro-proportional roller controls. A multi-function computer display provides access to control menus, diagnostics and hydraulic adjustment screens.

The excavators come with integrated telematics modules, enabling real-time data transmission and smart alerts for dealers, customers and operators.
