M&T Expo will take place in 2022

The 11th edition of M&T Expo, the international trade fair for construction and mining equipment, will take place from 30 August 30 to 02 September, 2022, at the São Paulo Expo Exhibition and Convention Center, Brazil.

The event – part of the Bauma Network – was originally due to be held in July 2021 but was postponed due to impact of Covid-19. It is the largest construction exhibition in South America.

Rolf Pickert, managing director of Messe Muenchen do Brasil, said, “Our expectation is that the live event will be the big meeting point of the sector post-pandemic, and we are eager to see exhibitors and visitors from the entire construction and mining industry chain.”

The announcement comes as a number of leading OEMs, such as Volvo CE, JCB, JLG and Metso Outotec, have announced that they will be stepping away from live shows such as M&T Expo in the near future.

Volvo CE said it will be refocusing on its own purpose-built audience outreach combining physical, digital and hybrid events while Metso Outotec said it would focus on local representation, branded regional events and digital events through its website.

Rafael Rinaldi, exhibition director of M&T Expo, emphasised that the exhibition was about more than just the days that the show physically takes place.

“Especially in the digital environment we have intensified our efforts to bring qualified content to our exhibitor and visitor target groups and to keep the industry connected in a dynamic way 365 days a year,” said Rinaldi. “Our efforts will finally culminate in the live event in 2022 so long awaited by everyone.”
