C&D Hall of Fame for US ‘pioneer’ Dan Costello
09 February 2022
A leading North American association will induct a long-serving demolition expert into its C&D (Construction and Demolition) Hall of Fame at its annual industry gathering next month.
The Construction & Demolition Recycling Association (CDRA) will present its “highest honour” to Dan Costello, the founder and president of Costello Dismantling Company.
“Dan has always recycled demolition debris and, more than any other contractor, has remained innovative in finding ways to recover more materials from his company’s demolition projects,” said Jason Haus, CEO of Dem-Con companies and president of the CDRA.
“While this thinking may be more common in the demolition industry today, Dan made his company a pioneer in this approach. The CDRA is proud to honour this vision.
Dan served as a CDRA board member for many years and chaired a task force that put together the first specifications for C&D wood fuel. His company also owns crushing equipment to process rubble into a recycled aggregate.
“The CDRA really appreciates Dan’s long service on the board of directors and Costello Dismantling’s continued membership. Dan’s unique and environmentally conscience art of demolition and recycling are respected not only in the United States, but worldwide,” added Jason Haus.
Readers of D&Ri will also know Dan, whose company is based in Massachusetts, from his involvement with our annual World Demolition Summit, where he is a long-standing awards judge and was a session chair at the 2021 event in Chicago, USA.
The CDRA membership meeting will be held in Atlanta, Georgia from 13 to 15 March.
