“The team are absolutely delighted to win the Queen’s Award for Enterprise,” said managing director Darragh Cullen.

“This award is recognition of the hard work and resilience of all our stakeholders over the last three years, especially during the time of the pandemic. With staff suffering from Covid, isolating and with enforced lockdown, it has been an extremely challenging period.

“Continual growth during the pandemic is remarkable and a testament to who we all are and how we conduct ourselves.”

The Queens Awards for Enterprise have been running for more than 50 years. Descirbed as the most prestigious business awards in the UK, they recognise and celebrating business excellence across the country.

Also celebrating an award for International Trade is independent metal recycling and waste management company Ward, which is based in the English midlands.

The company collects and processes around one million t of materials annually and aims to divert 100% of the waste it processes from landfill.

“Over the three years to March 2019, thanks to significant investment in deep sea dock facilities and ongoing hard work of our dedicated teams, our overseas sales grew by 84%, a growth rate of 36% per annum,” said commercial director Thomas Ward.

“We were able to expand our export capabilities to service larger customers in Turkey, Egypt, India and Pakistan.

“We are planning sustainable growth with significant future investment into our people, processes, equipment and infrastructure. We are excited about the potential opportunities that winning the Queen’s Award could bring to help us achieve our long-term ambitions.”
