World Demolition Summit takes final shape
26 June 2013
The conference programme for the World Demolition Summit is getting close to its final shape, with speakers coming from around the world to address the industry at the Krasnapolski Hotel in Amsterdam on 31 October 2013.
The programme will cover a range of topics, but the emphasis will be on the practical side of the business, with presentations on some of the most challenging demolition projects, from the Boodarie Iron plant in the outback of Australia, through demanding urban demolitions to implosive demolition. In addition, Howard Button will expound on the Demolition and Refurbishment Information Sheets (DRIDS) initiative from the NFDC.
Of note will be the presence of the first high reach training simulator in the exhibit area. Developed by the NFDC in conjunction with Volvo and software provider Oryx Simulations, the tilting cab unit is sure to be a major draw. In addition, National Demolition Training Group manager Sophie Frances will talk about its development during the conference.
Speakers will include explosives specialists Dick Green, Fabio Bruno Pinto and Patrick Villard, with traditional demolition techniques being covered by Stuart Accleton, Claude Chene and, from Australia, Clinton Dick together with Simon Gill, among others.
