NorthStar acquires WRS Infrastructure & Environment

NorthStar has announced the acquisition of WRS Infrastructure & Environment Inc in a deal that expands the former’s environmental remediation and civil construction capabilities. The terms of the deal were not disclosed. NorthStar was formed in Spring 2014 with the coming together of LVI and NCM to form a single entity with an annual turnover well in excess of US$500 million. WRS reports a turnover of US$200 million, so this would suggest that the new entity will be the largest single demolition company in the world by a massive margin.

NorthStar CEO Scott State said of the acquisition: “Combining our national networks will give NorthStar additional resources to help our clients throughout the United States and globally solve their most complex environmental issues. With safety and our customers as our top priorities, we believe NorthStar is better positioned to deliver on our commitment to provide best in class environmental, demolition and emergency response services to our clients everywhere.”

The WRS deal provides NorthStar with greater environmental remediation, site assessment, waste resource management and flood control expertise.
