George Mackay joins UK demolition contractor Keanes

By Lindsay Gale17 June 2010

UK demolition specialist George Mackey has been appointed to the board of London based contractor Keanes, where he is expected to play a major role in developing the company's demolition business as the industry begins to recover from the effects of the global economic downturn. Indeed, reportedly the UK demolition industry is seeing an unexpected upturn in recent months as property developers are now beginning to clear sites for redevelopment.

George was previously on the board of another London based contractor, McGee, and according to Keanes managing director David Keane: "George is very highly respected within the demolition industry, where he is known especially for his estimating skills. He's worked on some major projects, including the demolition of the old Wembley Stadium."

George said of his new position: "Keanes has been in demolition for a long time and has a lot of satisfied customers. It is my job now to help build up this side of the business and bring in some new clients. I look forward to my new role; I'm working with an excellent team and I have every confidence that we can increase turnover in the demolition sector."
