Genesis extends XT shear line

17 March 2015

With the introduction of the GXT 225, GXT 1555 and GXT 2055 straight and rotator models, Genesis Attachments now offers 18 separate models in its XT mobile shear range designed for 12 to 285 tonne class excavators. The GXT 225 straight weighs in at 1,910 kg (4,200 lb) with a minimum carrier weight of 11.4 tonnes, with the rotator model weighing 2,228 kg (4,900 lb) for carriers from13.7 tonnes.

The GXT 1555 straight weighs 10,460 kg (23,000 lb) for 50 tonne carriers and larger, with the rotator weighing 12,160 kg (26,750 lb) for 66 tonne carriers and larger. The 2055 straight weighs 14,546 kg (32,000 lb) and is for carriers weighing 66 tonnes or more, with the rotator weighing in at 16,455 kg (36,200 lb) for 80 tonnes and above.

Shorter in length and height and lighter in weight, the XT features a centre of gravity that is closer to the excavator that Geneisis said allows models to mount on excavators that previously could only carry smaller, less powerful shears. The XT also features an apex where most cutting is don, that is closer to the back of the jaws, improving material gathering and increasing cutting performance and efficiency while reducing maintenance.
