Primrose Homes is a new housebuilding venture launched by Mike Cuddy, managing director of UK demolition contractor Cuddy Group.

From knocking them down to building them up - that is the move initiated by Mike Cuddy with the establishment of Primrose Homes, a new housebuilding operation that is expected to bring 30 new jobs to Wales within the next three years. Primrose is a separate venture on the part of Mike and does not form part of the Cuddy Group.

Mike is co-founder with his brother John of Cuddy Group., one of the UK's largest demoltion contractors, and his demolition experience should prove of value in the new venture. In a statement, he said: "Going into housebuilding seems a logical step for me. I can draw upon the knowledge and experience I have gained through Cuddy Group, providing the full scope of services neded to prepare sites for regeneration - decommissioning, asbestos removal, demolition, land remediation, civil engineering and plant hire."

He went on to say the the plan for Primrose Homes involves the careful selection of sites for development where new high quality homes will provide a sound investment in today's difficult economic circumstances. "I am South Wales born and bred, so I am very passionate about the local area and its future, and I am determined that the Primrose Homes name will be synonymous with sensitive small developments of houses that are built to last," he added.

The new company's first ever development consists of 81 new builds, made up of two and three bedroom terraces through to four bedroom detached properties. Primrose also has plans for future developments in the Vale of Glamorgan, Newport and the Gower Peninsula at Swansea.
