Aggregates specialist expands equipment fleet

Elliotts Cheltenham, a Unied Kingdom-based recycled aggregates supplier, has expanded its equipment fleet with the addition of two new Doosan machines.

The company, which is based in Gloucestershire and serves construction industry contractors across the region, added a DX380LC-7 tracked excavator and a DL320-7 wheeled loader to its operations.

Elliotts, a producer of sands, gravel, shingle and roadstone materials such as Type 1, scalpings, 6F2, crusher runs and other specialist types, will use the Stage V-compliant machines to carry out tasks for both its recycled aggregates business and for quarrying applications.

The DL320-7 loader and the 40-t excavator will work alongside Elliotts’ mobile crusher, helping to process construction waste - including raw concrete and rubble - into 6F5 aggregates.

Supplied by Doosan authorised dealer Kellands Plant Sales, the DX380LC-7 is part of Doosan’s DX-7 equipment range.

The excavator model features Doosan’s D-ECOPOWER technology, which enables smoother machine control and a higher level of productivity with lower fuel consumption.

While Elliotts’ new excavator is fitted with a Stage V-compliant DC09 diesel engine from Scania, its Stage V DL320-7 wheeled loader is powered by Doosan’s new six-cylinder DL08V engine.

Like DX-7 excavator, the company’s new loader is also designed to maximise productivity. It has a standard bucket capacity of 3.3 cu m and incorporates Doosan’s Load Isolation System (LIS), which enables a “higher output due to improved stability when the wheel loader is moving”.

Nick Elliott, managing director at Elliotts, said: “All of our operators like the new machines which provide advances in every area over the previous generation machines.

“In particular, the operators like the redesigned cabs on both machines, which provide a very comfortable and safe environment to work in.”

In addition to the updated cabs, the DX380LC-7 and DL320-7 are both equipped with the DoosanCONNECT wireless fleet system, which allows equipment owners to monitor the performance and security of the equipment, and to carry out preventative maintenance.
